Warp Overview

Warp was founded in 2007 out of Carlsbad, California by a highly motivated and exceptionally talented team of five. Funded simply with savings accounts and credit cards, but armed with extensive experience in developing video technology, the team set out to build something great.

The initial beta service launched in August 2008. Within two months, and zero dollars spent on marketing, over 1000 websites were signed up and actively using the Warp system.

Warp has continued to grow, and we continue to improve our offering to bring affordable, professional video to the web.

Meet the Warp Team

Paul Koch, CEO

With over 14 years of entrepreneurial software development experience, Paul Koch serves as Warp's guiding light and driving force. Paul has developed and helped contribute to many industry leading technologies, including extensive development with online video.

Sean Dwyer, CTO

Sean began his career in the software industry over ten years ago after studying electrical engineering at the University of California, Irvine. He has worked in many different fields within the industry including video game development, online education, and telecommunications. Sean has collaborated with clients such as Billboard, Virgin, Blizzard Entertainment, and Coca-Cola.

Steve Bray, CFO

Steve Bray has an MBA from CalPoly and a BA United States International University in San Diego. Steve's background includes several successful business enterprises, including participation in a nation-wide franchise chain. He spent the last 15 years as a college professor in various local colleges including UCSD. Steve brings his experience in broadcast video, editing and special effects and has worked with companies such as Dreamworks and Cartoon Network.

Matt Beckman, VP of Engineering

Matt manages the development and operations of Warp's software and engineering projects. He has a strong foundation in software development and systems engineering, and he also holds a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science from California State University. He has been developing software and managing network systems for over 8 years.

Aaron Hunter, Founding Engineer

Aaron has over 8 years of experience with IT operations and development. He's worked with General Dynamics, AT&T, and Qualcomm. Aaron has a veritable Swiss Army Knife of technology knowledge and experience which allows him to switch between development and operational tasks with ease. He also has 10 years of independent consulting experience and has worked with companies in the United States, Mexico, and Switzerland.
